*Not* Born With It.
People often say that talented people are just born with it, that their skills and their greatness were inevitable because that is what they were born to do; I wanna call bullshit.
I can only talk from my own experience and explain how I see it from what I've learned in my short life. I tell my friends all the time that the only real birth given talent is singing, and even that can be learned and polished to be somewhat good at. The rest is for everyone to grab. Anyone who says that some people are just "born with it" are lazy and unwilling, yet not any less talented than the next guy. Grit to great, that's all it takes.
I've said this too many times, but it bears repeating: clichés are clichés for a reason, they're right. Whatever it is that you're going after, whatever new or old talent that you have/had or you want to have, know that you can, it will just take hard work and a lot of time. The best way to understand this is to start now, get to doing whatever it is you've always wanted to do, this is the perfect time for you to do it, start the year right, all you need is to change your mindset. If you're still hesitant follow these simple tips:
- Write down your goal (that thing you want to be better or good at).
- Write under your goal three doable actions that will take you there.
- Share your progress (big or small, perfect or awful, this is for you to see later not for people to love now).
Do this for a month, for a week, for a year! and you'll see the results; remember, no one is born with it.
